What may be a first for The Wing Men, we enjoyed a Saturday, lunch-time wing special. Unbeknownst to us, it was Kramer’s Grill 1-year Anniversary weekend, so they had the front lightly decorated and a raffle where you get a ticket for every $10 dollars you spend, with one of the prizes being unlimited wings for a year. Unfortunately, they’ve done the drawing since and neither of us won. With it being Saturday during lunch, it was pretty unpopulated, so we had our pick of the many options of sit-down tables they have. There was one other person there who left by the time we got our wings. We did get there pretty close to opening, so maybe the crowd would have filtered in around dinner time. I can also see this place making most of their sales with take-out, but there’s really pure speculation and not founded on any proof outside of our brief visit on Saturday afternoon. Since we were some of the only people there, service was quick. The wings did take a surprising amount of time, but maybe they were warming up the fryers since we were likely one o the first orders of wings. We also ordered 40 wings, so that probably delayed the process.

Kramer’s offers a couple different wing specials on different nights. Normally, you can get 85 cent wings on Saturdays. If you visit on Thursday, it’s all you can eat for 19.99. Their wings are pretty big, so you’d probably get a better deal with their 85 cents wings because I doubt most people can take down 20 of their wings, which I personally struggled with. For their 1-year anniversary, they were offering 12 wings for $10, which is slightly better than normal, but then they charge $1.50 more if you get two sauces with an order, so it ended up being worse, but that’s splitting hairs over a couple cents. I do wish that was made clear to us when ordering. Either way, these wings are large, crispy, and meaty, which is exactly what I look for in wings.

Kramer’s offers one of the largest wing sauce selection in the area, with a good mix of your classics and some truly unique options. During our visit, they had 38 different sauces with 10 of those being dry rub. Some of the stand-out sauces include Chocolate Raspberry Chipotle, Sticky Coconut, Sweet & Savory Cranberry, and Black Garlic Truffle Dry Rub. If you’re looking for a unique wing sauce, Kramer’s is the place for you, but you won’t be disappointed if you want to stick with the familiar.

Unfortunately, because we wanted two sauces per order, they served us sauce on the side. I typically prefer my wings drenched and swimming in sauce, so was a bit disappointed that the sauce had to be on the side, especially when it’s difficult to coat the wings in the small side sauce containers they provided. Perhaps a benefit of the sauce on the side though was how crispy it allowed the wings to be. They were very well cooked. I started with the Kramer’s House. These wing were a mix of the mild sauce and blue cheese, which was apparent when they arrived because the sauce was a great orange, creamy sauce with bits of blue cheese. The sauce was definitely stronger on the blue cheese portion, but you still got a good amount of the mild sauce flavor. Next up, I ordered the Hot Ranch. These wings looked very similar with a thick, creamy, orange sauce. I preferred the balance of the mixture in these ones with a great taste of both ranch and hot sauce. Whenever I see a pickle sauce on the menu, I have to order it, which is why I got the Creamy Pickle. The sauce was a thick, white sauce, similar to a dill dip. It had a good dill pickle flavor with chunks of pickle throughout. Finally, I opted for the Chocolate Raspberry Chipotle. The wings was on the sweeter side with plenty of raspberry and a hint of chocolate. It was lacking on the spicy, smoky chipotle flavor, which I was looking forward to it. Regardless, I liked what they were going for and enjoyed it.

A little different rendezvous for your NEPA Wingmen was had at Kramer’s Grill. Why so different? Because it was a Saturday Lunch wing journey. Yes, there is a wing special at Kramer’s on Saturday and I for one like the change up.

Kramers has been around for a year and that’s a fact. How do I know that with such certainty? It’s because they were celebrating one year of business when we went there. There were raffles they were doing, and I am certain that I almost got my ticket. So if my name gets called, I still want to collect my prize.

Kramer’s is the ultimate lunch spot. It’s not a bar and since they’re not a bar they do not cater to the sports or watching TV crowd. I bet Kramer’s cleans up the take-out-lunch scene in the Archbald area.

Our server was pleasant and helped usher out all the wings and sauces swimmingly.

Sure I would have loved it if this bar was a Cozmo Kramer-themed bar, but I understand, perfectly, why it isn’t. Oh well, there’s always hope for a George Costanza bar pop up around here.

The wing special we encountered was 12 wings for $10. That’s pretty good given today’s circumstances and the wings themselves are quite large. The MPB(meat per bite) ratio was a strong one that heavily favors the consumers.

Wings come in orders of 12 but you can split them in orders of 6s. You’re going to want to do that.

38 flavors. You can get 38 flavors at Kramer’s. That’s a number of flavors you don’t often see out there in the wild wing. They had all the usual flavors you see plus they had several unique choices such as sweet and savory cranberry, sticky coconut, black garlic truffle dry rub, boom boom garlic, and chocolate raspberry chipotle.

You have to respect the creativity ut of Kramer’s.

Here’s something you need to know about splitting sauces at Kramer’s; the sauces will be on the side. If you love dipping wings, this is right up your ally. Personally, it’s not my favorite way to eat wings but I assure you I don’t care that deeply about that.

The plus side about sauce on the side is that the wings have a much better chance of being crispy and the wings were certainly that.

First I got the hot. It was a much thinner sauce than I expected but it was flavorful. There was solid heat throughout the sauce.

Next was the buffalo lemon pepper. Kind of a combo with a wet sauce and a dry rub. I could have used more lemon pepper here. This sauce had that hot sauce in there but there was room for more lemon pepper seasoning.

Coming next was the Shabang dry rub. I forgot to ask our server what this dry rub entailed but I really think there were some high-intensity citrus notes in there. It was very good and that high-octane citrus snap really had my taste buds dancing. Sure, it was interesting sprinkling the seasoning on the wings themselves but I made sure that every bite was properly coated.

Finally, I had the boom boom garlic. I love boom boom sauce. I don’t know exactly what’s in it but I love it. I’m happy this sauce was created seemingly a few years ago and is in many wing joints. This sauce was very good. I didn’t get the garlic part of it too much, could have used more of it. But, it was a good rendition of a boom boom sauce.
