The new Dave & Buster’s in Moosic has a lot of the usual Dave & Buster’s flare in a slightly smaller format. To make things easier on myself moving forward, Dave & Buster’s will be referred to henceforth as D&B. If you’ve been to a D&B in a bigger city, you know there is a giant game floor and a very large bar and dining area. Half the D&B at Moosic is dedicated to games and the other half has your bar and dining section. Definitely smaller, but still plenty of room for each area. We made a reservation to be safe and I wasn’t quite sure it was warranted. Granted, we went on a Monday and it was pretty packed. The service was really fast, although the wings took a bit longer than I expected. There was actually a point I dissuaded Serniak from doing a lap around the game section to check out our gaming options, but in hindsight, we easily could have done a couple laps. Regardless, it wasn’t that long of a wait overall. If you go into the new D&B understanding it’s not going to be as large as a traditional D&B, you’re still going to have a great time.

A lot of D&B locations have a Monday wing night where you pay $22.99 and get all you can eat wings plus a $10 card for games. I should have done a bit more research, or even called, because this new D&B does not have this in place. I’m unsure if that’s eventually in the plans for the Moosic location, but our waitress didn’t give any indication that it was. So, expect to pay the regular price for wings, which is $12.49 for 8 wings. That’s not a great price for wings, but at least they are a pretty good size. I placed 2 orders totaling 16 wings and left plenty full. All our wings were available, but others we were with struck out with available food, so it seems like they are still getting other footing with inventory.

D& B offers a decent selection of wings and some good variety on flavors. Outside of classics like Buffalo and Garlic Parm, they also serve up some interesting options like Nashville Hot, Spicy Korean, and Sricha Honey. They also offer a couple dry rubs if you’re into that sort of thing.

    Wing Taste (x2): 7

Being our first visit, I had to order the Classic Buffalo to see what they were all about. It’s pretty decent buffalo with a nice orange sauce. The flavor hit all the marks with that buttery, vinegar taste with a slight spicy kick. These aren’t the best buffalo wings you’ll ever have, but you’ll still be happy with the taste. I’m becoming a huge fan of Nashville Hot, so when I saw that as an option, I knew that was going to be my second flavor. I definitely preferred this wing of the two I ordered. It was a pretty spicy wing with a hint of that brown sugar sweetness. It was a darker sauce, which is par for the course for a Nashville Hot sauce. I prefer my wings soaking in sauce, but these wings were a bit lacking in that department.

NEPA can’t stop getting more cultured, and what can be more progressive for a community than Dave and Busters? The answer is nothing can be more progressive.

I’ve only been to one Dave and Busters and that was about ten years ago in Philadelphia. That was a huge one, and apparently, the one we got is a slightly smaller version. That’s classic NEPA. Oh, we’ll give you something cool, but you’re not going to get the ultimate version of it. We’ll keep working.

What I wasn’t anticipating was how awesome the bar area was. Sure, the games are fun but the extensiveness and seriousness DB(not DB Cooper) put into the bar area is wildly impressive. It’s a prime spot to watch a sporting match and I honestly can’t wait until I do that there. Huge TVs galore that are a bit separated from where the youngins or guys are trying to win their ladies a stuffed animal or whoopi cushion in an effort to present their value.

Service was on-point and our server was diligent with everything she did.

Finally, the answer is no. No, they do not have San Francisco Rush. You can bet I’ll be writing a carefully constructed letter to Dave and Buster individually so that this error can be fixed.

One thing you need to reconcile with yourself is that Dave and Busters is a chain. I know we know this but folks still get surprised when they see the prices for wings at chain wing places. At this point, I’d like to think it’s not that much of a shock.

They don’t do all you can eat which is something we were hoping for. Another reason NEPA is still lagging and still has work to do is that our DB doesn’t have an all-you-can-eat wing night. The bigger ones, allegedly, do. So that was a bummer.

Wings come in orders of 8, and they go for $14.50, which isn’t appetizing, but the size of the wings was above average. Again, what did you expect?

DandB does a solid job of providing interesting wing flavors. You can most of the classics minus honey mustard but you can also get some unique flavors such as Carolina style BBQ, Nashville Hot, which is on the rise, Spicy Korean, Cajun, and Ranch dry rub.

    It’s a solid lineup.

DandB did a nice job with their wings. Lynch and I split 4 orders so I’ll be discussing the two I got.

First was the garlic parm. They were as advertised, and they were loaded with, you guessed it, garlic and parm. There was no skimping on anything. If you’re a straight-up garlic parm person, get these.

Next was the Spicy Korean. This flavor is starting to show up more and more and I’m here for it. These had the spice notes that you could clearly see and naturally taste but then they were bolstered by the stickiness that an Asian sauce brings. They’re almost like a spicy BBQ but not that BBQy if that makes sense. They were the best I had and Dave and Busters.
