    Overall Rating: 54

While approaching the Parker House, I could have sworn the place was closed. The parking lot is completely dark with no lights. There are no windows to indicate there is life inside, and the sign out front has a slight green and red glow. I didn’t know they made lights that dim, but this light had the dimmest light around. It’s part of the bottom of the house. As soon as you enter the door, there is a stairwell leading upstairs. The bartender was extremely friendly. In fact, he may have been borderline too friendly. He was telling us about his future plans and his past work history. He also let us know multiple times that Parker House was hit or miss. Sometimes it could be super busy and other times it could be dead. When we got there, it was during one of those dead times. The bartender was also adamant in telling us that plenty of nurses showed up later in the night. We did not stay to experience this phenomenon. He also told us how not every bartender would make food. Luckily, he was one of those bartenders that did make food. This was the fastest service we have ever received. It may be because it was the two of us and regular at the bar. We placed out order, ate our wings, and were out of the place in a little over 30 minutes. It was very impressive. They only allow wings to be placed in orders of 10, which is a pain with places that have a lot of flavors, but since they only had the mild and hot, it wasn’t a huge deal here. The place itself did seem like a local bar, but an inviting local bar. There was free shuffleboard, a jukebox for entertainment, and dart in the side. It was a pretty large bar for the bottom of a house with plenty of floor space.

    Wing Size: 7

For $0.40 each, the wings were a pretty good size. They were cooked to a nice consistency between crunchy and rubbery (this is just the way I like it).  The wings weren’t huge, but larger than a lot of other places.

    Wing Flavors: 1

There’s no way around it, this place can only get a one for the amount of flavors it had. The bartender seemed to indicate it was only a recent thing to have a wing night, and perhaps The Parker House will increase their variety in the future. If you were to go anytime soon, expect only the mild and hot.

    Wing Taste (x2): 7

We placed an order of 30 wings to split between us. While we were waiting for our wings, another younger guy and his lady (at least I assumed as much) walked in and were talking to the bartender about the wings. They were discussing the wings and the younger guy made it seem like the wings were basically ketchup sauce, which had me a bit worried. When we finally got the wings, they were surprisingly very good. Although Parker House isn’t known for its food, I was happy with the wings. They were tasty, spicy wings with an interesting flavor. It looked like he added some sort of seasoning or herb to the sauce, but I couldn’t quite place my finger on it. I really wish there were more variety so I could give a better review of the flavor, but with the limited selection, this was all we could rate on. Your mileage may vary, as the younger guy there said they were better this time around. Maybe we got a good batch, maybe the sauce varies by who cooks them, or maybe The Parker House is experimenting and improving their formula. Overall, the wings were above expectations.

    Serniak's Rating: 25 out of 50

    Environment: 8

As we drove up to the place, it had an ominous look to it. There was no one in the parking lot and there were no lights on the brick building making it look like there was nothing existing in it. But we went in and it was alright inside. It had a good wooden bar, pool table and even a shuffle board table. There was only one bartender/person working at all there and he was a character. A character in a good way. He was funny, polite non-discrete  and most importantly was happy to serve us. We literally got there at 6:55 and were out of there by 7:35. And it wasn’t because we were being rushed it was impart to no one else being there and that guy put our wings in immediately.

    Wing Size: 6

The wings were 40 cents a wing but you had to order them in orders on 10 so we got a total of 30. It was pretty good deal. The wings were descent size as well.

    Wing Flavors: 1

Unfortunately, there was only 2 flavors; mild and hot. The place, as were told, got rid of their full time cooks so the guy who was serving us will attempt to make anything within reason as long as they have it there to make. Fortunately, he could put wings in a fryer so at least we got to eat.

    Wing Taste (x2): 5

I wrestled with this decision for a little bit and after a flying elbow I decided that I could not go any higher than a 5 for this rating. Though I only had one flavor to judge, it was actually a pretty good hot wing. It was spicy and buttery, much better than I expected it to be. But, with only one flavor, I couldn’t give it a rating of 8-9 based on one flavor. I wish there was more flavors to try because the hot wings were tasty.
