I will say, it’s been quite a while since we’ve posted to the website. We’ve been so busy with the Holidays and filling our faces with wings that we’ve been posting a lot on Facebook but hardly anything on here. Don’t you worry though. We’re back!

Deleo’s Bar N Grill is a bar in Dalton that serves some fantastic wings. We were blown on our first visit with not only the great service and huge amount of flavors that we knew we’d be back. Our experience this time was slightly different, so definitely check out the podcast to hear all about it.

If you’re more of those reading types, head over to the Deleo’s Review Page to get the scoop on our very first visit.

While making your way north on 307 from Scranton, you’ll stumble upon a small bar called Deleo’s Bar N Grill. Technically located in Dalton, Deleo’s is a place you walk into and immediately see the writing on the wall. And I mean literally, people have written all over the walls with marker. It’s silly things along those lines that give Deleo’s its personality. The place houses a small square bar, a large sit-down table area around a pool table, and another smaller sit-down area by a shuffle board. We sat at the bar once a group of guys left and kindly offered us their seat. In fact, every encounter we had at Deleo’s was very friendly. A person ordering drinks struck up a conversation with us and our bartender/waitress was very conversational, asking where we were from and giving us feedback on the sauces we ordered. We did have to wait a bit for the wings, which I imagine was due to the large number of people in the bar. It is also cash only, so be prepared to hit up the on-site ATM if you’re strapped for paper money.

Deleo’s serves a decent-sized wing that will leave you feeling full. On Wednesday, their wing night, Deleo’s charges 45 cents for wings. It’s also nice that they allow you to place minimum orders of 4, which allows you to order more flavors if you’re into that sort of thing. On any other night, you can get an order of 10 wings for $7.

I was told that Deleo’s offers some interesting wings, but I had no idea that they had such a large option of flavors. In addition to classic flavors like Mild, Hot, and BBQ, Deleo’s offers some truly unique treats. These interesting options include Locos Doritos, Walnut, Apricot, and French Toast. It makes me want to go back and try even more sauces. Be sure to check the signs around the bar or ask your waitress/bartender about extra flavors because there were some sauces we missed because they were not on the menu.

    Wing Taste (x2): 9

Every wing that I had at Deleo’s was a delicious hit. Every time I try someplace new, I have to order the Hot. Deleo’s does a very good job with their regular Hot sauce. It was very tasty with a nice mix of butter and acidity. It had a nice zing that I really enjoyed. The Hot Garlic Parmesan might have been even better. The base Hot sauce was mixed with Caesar and Garlic to provide additional flavor to the already fantastic Hot. The Teriyaki is a flavor that I always enjoy trying and Deleo’s provides the type that I really like. It is a saltier, runnier Teriyaki sauce with tons of great taste. I wish there could have been a bit more Teriyaki sauce on my wings, but it was still delicious. The final wing I got was one that really called out to me on the menu: the Walnut. It is a thicker, white sauce wing with an interesting tang of something that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. I almost got a horseradish or honey mustard taste from it. There was no walnut flavor to be had, but I was more than happy with the overall taste of the Walnut wing.

DeLeos is a very interesting place located in Dalton. What makes it most interesting is the people that graced us as we sat and dined. They were extremely friendly, informative and had a fine sense of humor on them. They kept us entertained as asked about what flavors were good and observed a solid shuffle board match. The place is also neat in the fact that there table situation is one where they have several long tables where it usually require you to sit with people you don’t know giving you the perfect opportunity to spark up a random conversation with random people. We sat at the bar so our server was also our bartender. She enjoyed that we were there for the first time and filled us in on which flavors we should get. The place just had such a welcoming vibe that it can’t miss.

The wings here have solid girth, with solid meat on them. If you order your standard order amount, I’m confident you’ll be sufficiently full. The wings on their wing night are 45 cents, which is right where the majority of places set their wing night price.

Who knew that Dalton liked to experiment with flavor? I didn’t, but I’m glad that they do. With over 50 flavors, DeLeo’s has exactly what you need. Flavors such as Kentucky Blue, hot apricot, chicketta and French toast will keep your taste buds doing a little dance on the Omegas faces. If you get that reference please contact me to confirm. Also, they have new wing flavors of the week that they change up. This week flavor was Loco Doritos, which was a dry rub that featured the cool ranch variety.

There were many flavors to choose from, but with help from everyone around me, I was able to narrow it down to 4. Like always, when I go to a new place, I have to get the plain hot. Their hot was solid. It brought nice heat and blended well butter and spices. They had everything I want in my traditional hot wing. Next was the Kentucky Blue and they a solid rendition of blue cheese mixed with their hot sauce. They were very flavorful with excellent blend of hot and cool. The loco doritos flavor that I mentioned earlier as DeLeo’s feature flavor of the week, was in fact a dusting dry rub of the classic cool ranch doritos taste. It was awesome! They really nailed it. Everything you want out of a bag of cool ranch doritos mixed with wings, what’s not to love? The answer is nothing. Finally, I got the chicketta. They were really good. To me, they were essentially a porketta clone, which was to be expected. Another dry rub that was loaded with flavor, that’s a can do.
