We live right down the block from the V Spot but never frequent it and I don’t quite understand why. It’s mostly a bar with some seating for the food that is served there. It has plenty of floor space, and areas for a pool table and darts. It’s a clean bar with that wood paneling on the wall that I love. It’s definitely a place to go to see local music as they are always featuring bands. It’s also more for a crowd that likes bands like Hoobastank and Seether. Take what you want away from that sentence. It definitely appeared that the same people always go there, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The bartender was the only one working when we arrived and it was busier than I expected. He was very upfront and friendly. He let us know that he usually would come over to the table, but since it was busy, we would have to go to the bar. He always checked in on us to make sure everything was good. You can usually only place orders of ten, but he allowed us to split the orders. I guess they don’t always do this. There was a slightly above average wait for the wings to come out, but he kept letting us know that they would be out shortly. Also, the guy who gave our receipt seemed to indicate they would be orders of 12, but then we only received orders of 10. Also, one order only had 9 wings in it. The place also has moist towelettes. Perhaps I pay to much attention to the minor things, but damn, I’m a sucker for moist towelettes. And we got more than one each! They were making it rain in there with the moist towelettes.

You pay five dollars for 10 wings during wing night. At 50 cents a wing, I expected something a little larger. The wings were a bit small. I was able to polish off my 20 with no problems.

The V Spot had your usual mixture of wing flavors with a couple of interesting ones thrown in for a good variety. They should have something you like if you’re a picky eater. I like when places add their own unique flavor to the menu, which is the case with the cheesy cory garlic wing.

    Wing Taste (x2): 5

I got myself some Hot, Caesar Parm, Cheesy Cory Garlic, and Buffalo Honey Garlic. The hot were pretty tasty. A good sauce with a bit of spice – nothing too overwhelming here, but good nonetheless. The Caesar Parm were delicious. It was their hot sauce mixed with what seemed to be some Caesar dressing, sprinkled with a bit of Parmesan cheese. I only wish there was a bit more sauce on the wing. I was very excited for the Cheesy Cory Garlic, but was ultimately let down in the end. I was expecting a cheese type of sauce, but it was just the hot sauce with some garlic thrown in and a lot of parmesan cheese. They didn’t impress me at all. The Buffalo Honey Garlic were a nice little treat. The sauce is made up of the hot sauce and garlic with some honey added for a sweet kick. They are a great flavor if you don’t like something too spicy.

I’m giving the V-Spot an 8 for environment/service. I wrestled with this choice for a bit mainly because I have this idea about the place that bad things always happen there, which I know is not true but I still have it. The atmosphere was welcoming though I thought it would not be. Other people in the place didn’t bother us like I think they always will. They are just regular people hanging out. The bar is clean and they have good beer on draft like DogFishHead and Founders. You can play pool if you’d like as well. Our server was extremely nice, helpful and accommodating. He let us order our wings in orders of 5 even though they normally have to be ordered in orders of 10. There are several TVs, so if you want to watch a game there, it would be alright. If you are looking for a sophisticated place, the V-Spot might not be where you want to go. But if you want a place to relax with your friends and have food, you can certainly do that there.

    Wing Size: 5

The size of the wings was not tremendous unfortunately. Not the smallest ever but I wish they were bigger and meatier. On their wing night, wings are 5 dollars for 10 and you need to order them in orders of ten. But like I said earlier, the guy behind the bar was real nice and said that it wasn’t that busy so we were able to split them up in orders of 5.

    Wing Flavors: 7

The V-Spot has a solid assortment of flavors to choose from. With 13 flavors in total, the V-Spot ranges from traditional flavors like hot, honey mustard and bourbon bbq to Caesar parmesan and spicy Thai peanut.

    Wing Taste (x2): 5

I ordered the hot, honey mustard, Caesar parmesan and cheesy Cory garlic. Overall, none of them were strong in flavor. The hot were average and not spicy at all. The honey mustard were like ones you would fine just about anywhere, so they were average. The Caesar parmesan were balanced decently, but again nothing that wowed me. And finally, I had the cheesy Cory garlic, which was a flavor that mixed what seemed like Caesar parmesan with a slight hint of cheese mixed in. The cheese portion of it was not profound at all. I was hoping for more out of these flavors.
