I’ve been to Barrett’s Pub many times when I was a lad. We used to go there all the time as a family in my youth. It’s been many years since I was there, though. It is mostly as I remember it. It’s a pretty large place with a big dining area and a small section dedicated to the bar. I’ve never been there to drink, but from my experience with the place, it is more of a family restaurant. The bar is well-lit and well-stocked from what I saw. The dining area is also very nice. It’s very clean and has a fire place in the middle (that wasn’t lit) and a small table set up for children to sit and color or play. Like I said, it is definitely more a of a family place. The waitresses are very nice and seemed to carry on a conversation with whoever entered. The service was great, too. We were constantly checked on and our food came out very fast. This may be attributed to the fact that it was not busy at all. One thing I will say is that it was kind of chilly in there. There is that cool fireplace area in the middle, but they didn’t have it going, which would have been greatly appreciated. Barrett’s is not a place where you would go to get rowdy with your friends, but it is a place to go to enjoy a nice, relaxing meal.

    Wing Size: 8

These wings were pretty large. If you’re a fan of crispy wings, you may have to request it as the wings we got were bigger and rubbery-er. That’s not a word, but I don’t care, because that’s how I’m explaining it. Personally, I prefer my wings this way, which can most likely explain the larger size.

They did not have a huge selection here. Essentially, it can be broken down to regular hot wings, Honey Mustard, BBQ and Teriyaki. It’s nice to see some Teriyaki on the menu though.

    Wing Taste (x2): 8

I was pleasantly surprised by the wing flavor at Barrett’s Pub. Maybe based on some inkling from my past, I was under the assumption that I was going to be let down. That was not the case. I ordered Extra Hot and Teriyaki (of course). I like my wings a bit spicy, so ordering the Extra Hot was a smart move. They weren’t overwhelming at all and the flavor was very good. It was a great, spicy hot sauce. Not too vinegary or buttery, but just right. The Teriyaki were awesome, too. The sauce was a bit thicker and they sprinkled some sesame seeds on them to give them a nice touch. They were salty, just like a Teriyaki wing should be. They also smother their wings in sauce, which I am a huge fan of so I can dip my wings on the plate for more sauce if needed. Because they didn’t have a huge selection fo flavors, I ordered some devil fries as a nice little treat to myself. We aren’t the French fry men, but I will say these were top-notch devil fries. The potatoes are hand cut there and the hot sauce and cheese sauce were delicious.

Barrett’s Pub located Archbald, is a clean and welcoming place perfect for a family to dine. The place can be broken down in to 2 areas; the bar area and the dining room area. We sat in the dining room area. I wish we sat in the bar area because it was surprisingly chilly in there. There aren’t any games to play while you wait or anything like that so make due with actually talking to someone. Our server was courteous and kind.

    Wing Size: 8

The wings were slightly bigger than average. There have been larger ones but there certainly have been smaller ones as well. For 40 cents, you would like to get real full after your done but that might not happen here.

    Wing Flavors: 6

There are 9 flavors available to get and they are mild, medium, hot, extra hot, super hot, garlic, honey mustard, barbeque and teriyaki. Kind of an average selection but at least they had teriyaki, which isn’t available everywhere.

    Wing Taste (x2): 7

I ordered the extra hot, barbeque, teriyaki and honey mustard. The really felt like going more spice than usual but unfortunately the extra hot were not that hot. They tasted good. They tasted like “valley wing sauce.” It had that ketchuppy taste, which is good but I really wanted to feel some heat and just didn’t happen. The barbeque were your standard BBQ that probably came out of a Sweet Baby Rays bottle. The teriyaki were pretty descent. They had a nice sugar and soy sauce that weren’t to overbearing. Finally, I must say, the honey mustard wings were the best honey mustard wings I have had during this whole wing journey. They were great. They had your basic 2 ingredients; the honey and the mustard but what separates this honey mustard sauce to others is that I feel that the honey mustard sauce has a smokiness to them that is out of sight. It gives the sauce a heaviness to them that I thoroughly enjoyed.
